It’s a heartwarming news as the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), announces admission opportunities into Bachelor of Science (Bsc), in Business Administration in its recently approved Distance Learning Institute.

Acting Director of the institute, Associate Professor, Omolade Adeleke, who is the pioneering Director of the institute, said interested working class individuals with HND, OND, NCE and O level certificates, who wish to upgrade their academic qualifications, are eligible and invited warmly to grab the opportunity the Institute is offering.
Dr. Adeleke who is also the pioneer Acting Director of FUOYE ‘s Continuing Education Centre under which the Distance Learning institute was birthed, gave the long, tortous but fruitful journey that eventually led to the approval, by the regular body , the FUOYE Distance Learning institute.
His words: “
” The journey of Distance Learning Institute in FUOYE started when I was appointed as the Director of Continuing Education Centre in January, 2023 and at that point, both the Institute of Part time Studies and Distance Learning were under the Continuing education centre, making me the pioneer Director.

“We have been working towards getting the license to operate the Distance Learning Institute for some time. After a year of our preparation, a team came from Abuja in 2024 , and at the end of the day ,we were not given the licence due to some deficiencies. We had to increase our efforts and this year, the team came back in July 16th, 2025 for another round of pre-validation exercises. Prior to their second coming, I had undergone series of trainings both home and abroad. I also attended two other trainings in UNILAG with my team, and in some other places like ABU. So, the University management has really spent a lot on our training so as to ensure that we could start this programme on time and make sure that we passed the Pre-validation exercise. To God be the glory, we were able to bring to bear all the knowledge and skills we have gathered from the extensive trainings home and abroad. And we eventually got the license to run the Distance Learning Institute of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti FUOYE.

“I want to use this medium to appreciate the Management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, ably led by Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, for providing enough funds to train me, and other proposed staff members of the Institute. More importantly, l want to announce to the public that admission into the Distance Learning Institute has commenced. The admission is for the 2025/2026 academic session .
For now, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved that we start with Business Administration department alone. After which we can then apply for more courses. This programme offers the working class the rare and great opportunity to upgrade themselves by acquiring higher degrees. Those with HND , OND, NCE or even O level certificates, who wish to upgrade their educational qualifications but may not have time to attend physically for lectures because of the demands of work in offices, this is the programme that has been designed for you all.
